The Road To Rochester

I recently enjoyed an extended weekend in the city of Rochester, NY. The city has changed a bit since my leaving but still is the same to an extent. Its a very fertile city for breeding Hipsters, but I kept my Hooligan style under control. I also had the pleasure of reconnecting with some near & dear friends of mine.
The weather was perfectly Rochester, or crappy! This changed my plans a bit, but still made my way to Mt. Hope Cemetery. Oh, the memories of an RIT education, by the way, this is one of my favorite graveyards.

By far the creepiest headstone in the world.

Snow Days Remembered

Found a few misplaced rolls of 120 film a few weeks ago, so off they went to The Darkroom. Not the cheapest of places out there (any type roll $10 plus shipping), but the email stating that the film is processed and ready for online viewing, is quite nice and usually I get it within 3 days. These are not the greatest scans either, but one can always pay more to get better quality. If you are like this photographer, a scanner already sits upon the desk.

These look to be shot at Rutgers Gardens & Davidson's Mill Pond, and the date on the roll was from DEC 10. Nothing like a cold & snowy morning walk with my Mamiya Pro TL 645 in the woods. Even with all this digital stuff, this camera is always the favorite. I just might take a walk there on the next snowstorm, whenever that happens. Oh I guess an order of pull-a-part would be needed for proofing. BTW Fujifilm makes a nice instant film.

Not That Bad

While yet again my attempts to get a Bald Eagle pic failed, I did see it through some bins eating something that looked like a duck. But nature wouldn't let me down, got another chance sighting.
This time it was 9 Horned Larks, only could get 5 of them to pose for this picture. In total 5 were male and I guess you know how many females there where.

Winter Edition

Now that it is cold here in NJ, insects are not viable content till the spring. My net is itching for some warm weather, in the mean time I will focus on birds of the week, not that I'm a great bird photographer. So I present the easiest ornithological photographic subject, The Northern Mockingbird a.k.a
Mimus polyglottos.
