While trying to beat the heat today, I ran across an ad today on craigslist.
It read "Photographer with pro equipment willing to work for food & housing!", the first thing that came to mind" Is this a joke?" then it dawned on me it just might not be. With a lot of people now buying kit cameras and doing jobs for 75% less than what a guy like me would charge might, just be killing the business. My prices are relatively inexpensive but I can't compete against a $200 wedding bid or $50 headshots.
Then again, you get what you pay for!
